Congratulations to Lehigh Valley Grant Winners

 

 

The Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) recently announced the recipients of State Multimodal Transportation Funds. Competitive awards were available for projects totaling more than $100,000 but not more than $3,000,000. There were 418 projects statewide that received funding for a total amount of $152,414,748.

 

The multimodal program provides funding to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth. The program is administered and funds are used for the enhancement of transportation assets including streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, and transit-oriented development projects. In the Lehigh Valley, 8 projects were selected as follows:

 

  • City of Allentown – American Parkway Street Lighting - $232,000
  • City of Bethlehem – West Broad Street Streetlight Installation - $200,000
  • City of Easton – 13th Street Pedestrian Safety Enhancements - $128,697
  • Lafayette College – Lafayette College Travelways Improvement Plan - $1,110,183
  • Lehigh Township – Cherryville Intersection Improvements - $444,607
  • Lower Macungie Township – Heritage Park Plaza - $87,000
  • Northampton County Area Community College – Traffic Calming and Way-Finding at Northampton Community College - $283,767
  • The Waterfront Development Company – The Waterfront - Multi-Modal Revitalization Corridor Project Riverside Drive Road and Trail, Allentown - $1,000,000
